Undo The Devil’s Work
  By W. C. Moore

The fires of hell are burning their evil, cruel way into the hearts of our children and into the lives of our fondest friends. Our faint resistance, our mild disapproval, our lukewarm manners will never undo the works of the devil.

But we MUST undo them! We are Christ’s ambassadors (2 Cor. 5:20) – His representatives on this earth. We, you and I, fellow Christians, are the only hands, feet, mouthpieces Jesus has on the earth today! We MUST do His will – His works, in His name, in His stead, for Him!

"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy (marginal reading, undo) the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). You and I must undo the devil’s works today! Jesus says, "As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you" (John 20:21). He declares, "Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father" (John 14:12). Let us get busy doing these works, beloved brethren and sisters in the Lord!

"Faith…Worketh by Love"

The Scriptures say, "Faith…worketh by love" (Gal. 5:6). Listen to this sharp truth as the original Greek gives it: "Faith becomes active, operative, effective, powerful through love."

If your beloved wife or your darling child lay hurt in the street, struck down by a car – you would not stop to "pass the time of day" with anybody! The church, the Body of Christ and Christians, individual members of that Body, are being hurt, bruised, tormented by Satan and his emissaries. Throw away your kid gloves, brother, sister, and pitch in and undo the devil’s works in Jesus’ mighty name!

You say, "What can I do?" "Be filled with the Spirit" (Eph. 5:18), and believe God to show you what to do. Jesus says, "To every man his work" (Mark 13:34). Read prayerfully the 12th chapter of Romans, and the 12th, 13th , and 14th chapters of First Corinthians. Begin to do what you can, by God’s grace, and trust Him to help you as you go along.
