The Gospel Preached Unto All Nations
   By Lois J. Stucky

A faithful Herald of His Coming supporter recently wrote: "Reading the Herald’s ‘Out of Box 279’ page, I have noticed that some readers say that they are not able to respond financially when they receive their Herald paper. This brings to mind Luke 4:18 where Jesus stood up in the synagogue [in Nazareth at the beginning of His ministry] and quoted from Isaiah that He was sent to preach the Gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind and to set at liberty them that are bruised, and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord…. All of these things seem to be of equal value and importance.

"I am glad that at my age (78)," the letter continues, "I am still able to work and join Herald of His Coming in their important task, including preaching the Gospel to the poor. When Jesus’ followers asked Him concerning the end-time, His response seems to be that woes, calamities, earthquakes and troubles will increase at an accelerated pace. And He concluded that the Gospel of the Kingdom would be preached to all nations as a witness (Matt. 24:7, 14)…. Now that we are seeing troubles increase throughout the earth, I think we will see the Gospel that sets men free increase at the same pace…."

It seems undeniable that calamities and sorrows are occurring at an increasing pace around the world, with great numbers of injuries and deaths. These calamities often result in what Isaiah speaks of in 17:7 following the prophecy of calamities coming on Israel: "At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel." Some today who have been living sinful and careless lives will respond in times of catastrophes, by humbling themselves and acknowledging their guilt and seeking the help of God their Maker. Even if a word of witness has been given and rejected earlier, when tragedy strikes, there will be those souls who will seek their Maker and come into the heavenly kingdom.

Herald friends, whether you send your donations or pray or distribute or volunteer your time to package papers, your partnership is a tremendous blessing and is vital to the continuation of this ministry. Together we continue the important task of going with the Gospel into many countries of the world month after month.

To God be the glory for what is being accomplished! Let us continue to work shoulder to shoulder to do the part appointed by God to us in the fulfilling of His plan for this late hour – that the Gospel be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then the end shall come! What joy to help prepare the way for Christ to come and for souls to be made ready and watchful for His coming!
