HERALD INTERNATIONAL (Printing In Over Twenty Languages)

". . . To The Ends Of The Earth"

A heartfelt thanks to you dear friends who help support the work of the Herald International editions. Actually, any support you offer to Herald of His Coming, including any financial support, prayer support or other encouragement, also blesses the other language editions. This is true for several reasons, including the fact that these editions translate messages from the main English edition. The Herald staff rejoices that your partnership with this ministry is multiplied in this way. What a blessed privilege it is to join with you in helping the Lord’s message reach people in various languages and places! From the time when God first called Abraham, His plan was that through Abraham’s seed all the peoples on earth would be blessed (Gen. 12:3; 22:18). This wonderful promise pointed to the day when Abraham’s descendant, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, would come as the Lamb of God and with His blood would purchase men for God "from every tribe and language and people and nation!" (Rev. 5:9-10).

And before His ascension into heaven, Jesus, with all of the authority of heaven and earth, gave the Commission to His disciples then, and to us now, to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20). He promised His presence and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to be with them in this task: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8; Matt. 28:20). And on the Day of Pentecost, when the Lord poured out the Holy Spirit, His heart for all peoples was evident as there were gathered in Jerusalem at that time God-fearing Jews "from every nation under heaven" (Acts 2:5) and each one heard the Spirit-filled disciples "speaking in his own language" (Acts 2:6). From that point on, and to this day, the Lord has called, gifted and empowered His people to reach out beyond local and national boundaries to help share His love and message with others. Such ministry has been on the heart of the Lord since the early pages of Genesis, and continues to be on the heart of the Lord as the world as we know it draws to an end: "And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matt. 24:14).

Special Needs for Prayer

As you are probably well aware, the nation of Zimbabwe is in very difficult times including turmoil in the government and terrible economic problems. One pastor from there writes, "The economy is squeezing us and sometimes you feel like God does not care. All hope is now finished and we don’t know what to do next. Prices of basic goods are skyrocketing each and every day. I have had some times when I had to cry to God to give an answer that I will give to the people when they ask me ‘Pastor, when is God going to intervene on our behalf and is He really concerned?’"

He goes on to share that "we are going through some tough and difficult times for the Church and especially more for leaders and pastors. These are very trying times. We really need your prayers and help. The little faith that we have needs your fanning prayers and to some extent your help.... Zimbabweans have come to the end of themselves. Like Jehoshaphat, we just don’t know what to do. Our eyes are now on God and you our friends."

Please also pray for Nepal and Tibet. Offer praise that transitions are happening in Nepal that are opening the way for religious freedom. Pray that the Gospel will continue to spread and that believers in Nepal will be encouraged and strengthened through the Nepal Herald. Please thank the Lord that some good contacts are being made for a translator for a Tibetan Herald, and ask Him that a good translator will be able to commit to this work. Pray for a Bible translation into the Lhomi language as there is currently no Bible in Lhomi. Also, please pray for the Tibetans in the midst of the present turmoil.
