HERALD INTERNATIONAL (Printing In Over Twenty Languages)
"Then The Nations Will Know That I Am The Lord"
In the June 2008 issue of Herald of His Coming we shared a special prayer need for the nation of Zimbabwe. One pastor wrote, "...we really need your prayers and help. The little faith that we have needs your fanning prayers...Our eyes are now on God and you our friends."
"Praise be to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. The Lord is the strength of His people, a fortress of salvation for His anointed one. Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; be their Shepherd and carry them forever" (Psalm 28:6-9).
Zimbabwe Pastor’s Update
"Something is going on here in the spiritual realm. I believe we are having a heavenly visitation, and it is so sweet. It all started three Sundays ago. Our church had been discouraged, dull and disillusioned. Things were sliding down and slipping out of hand for many of us. Many were starting to doubt God, and it took a lot of faith to preach Sunday after Sunday. Attendance was not so bad, but most of the time it seemed I was preaching to people who ‘were there, but not there.’
"Then all of a sudden there was a great excitement in the things of God. God became real. People began arriving at church even before starting time. There is joy in serving the Lord. People are very sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Singing is so powerful. During worship time many people are shedding tears of worship. Some are laying prostrate on the ground in humility. This is God (the great Emmanuel) at work among His people. Attendance has been going up. Visitors are coming in great numbers. The number has increased from 60 per week to around 130 per week. This is phenomenal. Now I know that with God all things are possible.
"Bible teaching has been through the book of Hebrews. Sermons have been very powerful, sharp and convicting. One Sunday we went through an article by Dwight L. Moody printed in the May 2008 Herald of His Coming entitled ‘The Secret of Success in Christian Life and Work.’ People are turning to the Lord. We are seeing it week after week. By the end of June we are looking forward to baptizing around forty people if not more. The Holy Spirit is at work.
"As I am writing this letter I have had to stop many times to thank God. ‘Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have worked salvation for Him. The Lord has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations.... Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn – shout for joy before the Lord, the King’ (Psalm 98:1-6).
"This is amazing and this is the grace of God at work. No wonder the writer of Psalms would cry out these words, ‘Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?’ (Psalm 85:6). We are seeing and enjoying His presence like never before.
"Please thank God with us for such a wonderful visitation when all our hope was gone. Pray also that this will be the beginning of a mighty revival which will spread to other parts of the country. ‘I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.... Sing praises to the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done’" (Psalm 9:1-2, 11).
Update from Nepal
The editor of the Nepal Christian Herald writes, "I am planning to make an evangelical visit to 200 villages in Mahakali and Seti Zones located in the far western part of Nepal from September 15, 2008 through November 15, 2008. During my visit, I will preach to the village churches and distribute thousands of copies of Nepal Christian Herald. We have a network of Herald readers at some churches in far west Nepal. This area is dominated by Maoists. Please pray for my safety."
Pray also that this brother in Christ will "preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction" (2 Timothy 4:2). Pray for the Lord’s anointing upon each Nepal Christian Herald that is distributed remembering that "God’s Word is not chained" (2 Timothy 2:9).
A Heart Full of Love
Through Herald International the Lord has allowed Herald of His Coming the humble privilege of partnering with brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. These editors, representatives and co-workers are very dear to our hearts. At times they may grow weak and weary, there may even be persecution and suffering. As the Good Shepherd tends His flock, He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart (Isaiah 40:11). No one can snatch them out of His hand (John 10:28).
Please join us in praying for these faithful servants. "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart...God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God" (Philippians 1:3-11).
May you "shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the Word of life" (Philippians 2:15-16).
