Examine Yourself - Take An Inventory

It is important that we examine ourselves often and prayerfully in the light of God’s Word. Are we in truth pleasing God, or are we deceiving ourself? An outline of the Commandments of Jesus, under twenty-one principles, is given in Herald Newsletter Number 17 entitled, "The Authority of Christ." We invite readers to write Herald of His Coming for a copy of these commandments, that you might read over them and judge your life. "If we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged" (1 Corinthians 11:31).

"Be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves" (James 1:22).

"…for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, ‘As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’ So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:10-12).

"Not every one that saith unto me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord…’ Then will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity’" (Matthew 7:21-22).
