HERALD INTERNATIONAL (Printing In Over Twenty Languages)

Prayer For The Nations

We cannot mention all of the Herald International editions every month, and indeed, many of them are only mentioned briefly once or twice a year. Therefore, we would like to involve you, the readers in a campaign of prayer to lift up the international editions, workers, and their families on a regular basis. Thank you in advance for praying on behalf of those who are laboring so faithfully so that Christians all over the world will be encouraged and strengthened, and so that the Lordís kingdom will be advanced! Many of these editions reach beyond the borders of the nations in which they originate.

Would you faithfully pray for the brothers and sisters who work internationally, so that they will remain steadfast in their desire to see the Lordís Great Commission fulfilled in our day? If you are not already doing so, would you choose at least one, if not more, of the international offices or translations to pray for on a regular basis? They are listed below. They are also listed in the Daily Prayer Guide available from the Herald office. If you would like to pray with others for the editors (one editor each day) please ask for the Daily Prayer Guide when you write this month.

As you remember the editors and their co-laborers, please pray for their health, safety, finances, and spiritual strength in these last days. Pray for their protection from the evil one, who would do anything to distract them from this important work. Pray also that the work of the Herald can be greatly expanded to give encouragement and help to Christians around the world! Here are some specific Scriptural requests to direct your prayers:

LORD, may the pages of the Herald always proclaim what You have done so that many lost people will hear and sing praises to Your name! May each Herald worker rejoice in You continually! "Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what He has done" (Psalm 9:11). "Therefore I will praise You among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to Your name" (Psalm 18:49).

Father, we look to You, and ask You for the nations. You have promised them as an inheritance for Your Son. May the ministry of the Herald spread more widely to strengthen, and give boldness to Your people that they might reach many for Your glorious kingdom. "Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession" (Psalm 2:8).

Lord, may the good news that God hears the prayers of His people and saves them, turn people away from their idols to the One True God. Give wisdom to each Herald editor to proclaim this good news so that many will bow down before You! "All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before Him, for dominion belongs to the LORD and He rules over the nations" (Psalm 22:27-28).

Heavenly Father, we lift up each Herald worker to You, asking that he or she would find time each day to be still before You. In an effort to do the work of the kingdom, it is easy to get caught up in the urgency of it. May each worker realize that what You want most is not their work, but their wholehearted devotion to You. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth" (Psalm 46:10).

Glorious God, would You richly bless each Herald worker and his or her family? Make Your face shine upon each one so that Your ways may be known to all those around them. Because of their behavior may Your ways be known, and because of their ministries and witness, may Your salvation come to many nations! How we long for the nations of the earth to praise Your name, O Lord! May the Herald articles so stir the hearts of Your people that they will yield a harvest for Your kingdom. "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us, that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You. Then the land will yield its harvest, and God, our God, will bless us. God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear Him" (Psalm 67:1-7).

Mighty Lord, there are still so many who are lost! Give strength and a renewed passion to those who labor for You in the work of the Herald of His Coming around the world. May each one recall Your great and marvelous deeds, with a deep desire to see all of the nations You have made worship before You! "All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name. For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God" (Psalm 86:9-10).

Gracious King of Kings, may many people from every nation put their hope in Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! We pray that the Herald International workers will diligently seek His face so that their work will always be done to this end alone! "In His name the nations will put their hope" (Matthew 12:21). "ĎAs surely as I live,í says the Lord, Ďevery knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to Godí" (Romans 14:11).

Father of the Nations, we pray that the work of the Herald will bring You continued honor and glory as the messages proclaim the Good News. May those who prepare its pages and those who read it be edified and encouraged to faithfully complete the work You have called them to do! "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20). "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14).
