Americaís Annual National Day of Prayer

Thursday, May 1, 2003

Based on Proverbs 14:34: "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."

In this extraordinary hour, when the future to many looks uncertain and foreboding, might we American Christians seize this opportunity to unite in calling mightily upon our God. We who are privileged to live in this great land, and enjoy its God-given liberties and blessings, cannot fail to see that if we do not prevail in prayer for Godís intervening mercies, ungodly forces will sweep this nation into ruin and destruction.

Might we eagerly grasp the opportunity afforded us by this government-endorsed Day of National Prayer, to set aside time to seek God with humble, repentant hearts, beseeching Him with urgency and desperation to send a revival of righteousness upon this land, and to guide our nationís leaders and our church leaders in the way in which we should go.

If your community or your church has no observance of the National Day of Prayer, pray at home alone or with your family or friends. For help in organizing and publicizing rallies or services, you may call the National Day of Prayer staff at (719) 531-3379.
