PRAYER POINTS
This prayer guide is for personal and corporate prayer to
penetrate spiritual darkness in the 10/40 Window nations.
Use it daily as you pray through the calendar.
1. Pray for COMMITMENT: Christians must be obedient to take the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
Pray that Christians will begin to focus
time, resources, and manpower in the 10/40 Window. Less than 1% of Christian
income is spent in reaching these people who are precious to God.
Pray for believers to understand the urgency of reaching the
Window nations and doing everything possible to see that these young people will
not die without knowing Jesus.
2. Pray for PROTECTION: Children, adolescents, and youth are often killed with little regard for repercussion. Girl children in the Window are particularly singled out for oppression.
Pray against the undeclared war that
brings poverty, malnutrition, conflict, violent abuse, preventable disease, and
chronic social instability.
Pray for:
--Lives endangered by slavery, debt bondage, serfdom, forced labor, compulsory recruitment into armed conflict, prostitution, pornography, and making and/or selling drugs.
--Cessation of the barbaric practice of genital mutilation.
--God to give believers His strategies and solutions to eliminate war, poverty, lack of education, sickness, and disease, which devastate young people in the Window.
3. Pray for HEALTH: The life expectancy in some
Window nations is as low as 43 years.
Pray for:
--Water shortages to be relieved. Drought in the poorest of the Window nations has impacted crops, causing diminished food supply.
--Medical supplies, food, farm equipment, business materials, and other forms of relief to reach the people in need and not be confiscated.
--Access to health services, safe water, and sanitation facilities necessary to their survival. Many deaths are preventable.
--An end to malnutrition. In North Korea alone over 60% of children under 7 have been mentally and physically stunted due to lack of proper nutrition.
--The millions who have been infected with HIV. Many were exposed to AIDS due to forced prostitution or need to earn a living.
--Window governments to safeguard children by stopping child exploitation in the sex trade, and ending prostitution in tourism.
4. Pray for AN END TO ABUSIVE CHILD LABOR: More than
500 million children between the ages of 10-14 are working 10-15 hours per day,
suffering from fatigue, sickness, and overlong periods of sitting or standing.
--Protection from abuse suffered from forced child labor.
--God to prosper families so children can enjoy a happy childhood.
--The Christian world to financially impact these poverty-stricken people so the children don’t have to work.
5. Pray for EDUCATION: Millions of Window children,
especially the female child, are not educated, are refused the right to a basic
education, and are viewed as unworthy of this privilege.
The literacy rate among children to increase, especially the
female child who has no status in most Window countries.
Powerfully impacting Christian television and radio programs to be beamed into
the Window nations.
6. Pray for EMOTIONAL HEALING: The lives of millions of young people have been shattered by seeing their parents and loved ones mutilated or violently killed in civil uprisings, or by experiencing disasters such as earthquakes and droughts. Many are left to raise themselves. Some have been placed in orphanages.
For the sake of future generations, pray
that global terrorism, ethnic cleansing, and competitive control will cease.
Pray for:
--These little ones to meet Jesus as Lord and Savior and know that God is the Father of the fatherless.
--Healing and restoration of the hearts of those in war-torn lands who have not had an opportunity to be children.
--Children who have been forced to serve as soldiers and to kill unmercifully.
--Those whose parents have been martyred, persecuted, or ostracized because they are Christians.
7. Pray for HOPE: Many of these young people who come to Christ do not have a Bible, a mentor, or resources to help learn His ways. Most have practiced religion of a sort so that, without these helps, receiving Christ would simply be adding to the many gods they already worship.
Pray that they will receive and know the
living God and that He will be the only One they worship.
Pray for:
--Jesus Christ to be revealed to the hearts of children, teens, and young adults through dreams and visions, since 32% of believers come to Christ by the time they are 13 years old.
--Those who have no hope to have an opportunity to hear the Gospel in their own language in a culturally sensitive and contextualized manner.
--God to use them to impact their families, friends, and nation with the Gospel.
--All curses, witchcraft, and evil ancient traditions to be bound and ineffective.
--Willingness to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior even if it means they will be persecuted.
