Message from the publisher:

A Heightened Sense Of Urgency
 By Rich Carmicheal

"Jesus replied, ‘"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." All the Law and the Prophets hang an these two commandments’" (Matthew 22:37-40).

"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply…" (1 Peter 4:7-8).

At the heart of the Gospel message is the call to love God and to love others. This call is given a sense of urgency in light of the fact that "the end of all things is near." Jesus is returning soon and we must make the most of the limited time we have to focus on our relationship with the Lord and to encourage others in their relationship with Him. You may feel an even greater sense of urgency at this time in light of the increase of problems and uncertainties throughout the world. This is a crucial time and as the Lord’s people we need to prepare ourselves for the return of Christ and take advantage of every opportunity to reach out to family, friends, neighbors, fellow countrymen and to people from other nations.

The ministry of Herald of His Coming hopes to encourage and challenge you to this end. May the Lord use this issue of the Herald (and every issue) to strengthen and deepen your relationship with Him and increase your desire and ability to reach out effectively to others. May He awaken us all to the significance of this hour!

Special Thanks

We want to thank all of you who are providing financial support so that this ministry can continue to print and freely distribute Herald of His Coming and other gospel literature. We receive many letters testifying to the impact this ministry is making in the lives of others, and we realize that this is possible only because of your generosity. We want to also thank those of you who have sent in gifts recently in response to Dave Butts’ letter in the October issue. We appreciate the special help at this time. We want to invite all Herald readers to offer financial support, prayer support and other encouragement to this ministry so that the Herald’s outreach can continue and increase. The need for revival-oriented literature and salvation literature has never been greater!

Special Opportunities

"Right Choice" – Earlier this year we reprinted 50,000 copies of the salvation paper, Right Choice, and this supply is about completely gone. This is a reason to rejoice because it means that these copies have been distributed by Herald readers to non-Christians. We trust that the Lord is using this paper to plant the gospel seed in the hearts and minds of thousands of people! Your gifts to this ministry will help us continue to print and distribute this salvation paper.

Back Issues – We still have a good supply of most of the Herald issues from August 2000 to present. If you would like a package of these past issues to share with others, please let us know the amount of back issues you would like when you write to Herald of His Coming. If you would like to help send a package of back issues for distribution overseas, please mention that when you send your gift to this ministry.

New Readers – We are always eager to send sample copies of the Herald to new people. We invite you to send to us the names of family, friends, and others who would be interested in receiving the paper.

Special Offers

"Be Ready" – We are glad to offer copies (in tract form) of Brother Moore’s soul-stirring message "Be Ready" which is reprinted on page 5. We hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to write to us for copies of the tract to share with others. See page 5 for more details.

"Gaining God’s Perspective" – On September 18, Intercessors for America (IFA) interviewed Dr. Henry Blackaby and asked his perspective on what God is saying to America in light of the tragic events that occurred September 11. This timely message is a call to holiness and prayer as it emphasizes the important role of the Lord’s people at this time in America. If you would like to read this interview, please ask for a copy of "Gaining God’s Perspective" when you write to Herald of His Coming this month or, if you have access to the internet, you can read the interview at www.ifa-usapray.org (the IFA web site).

"An Urgent Appeal" – On page 6 we have included another excerpt from An Urgent Appeal to Christian Leaders in America for Consensus and Collaboration on the Biblical Nature and Hope of Corporate Revival. The National Revival Network of Mission America has prepared this document to stimulate Christian leaders to focus on and work toward revival in America. At this critical time in America, we want to invite Christian leaders to read and work through this document with other leaders. Herald of His Coming has copies available upon request.

"Heart-Cry for Revival Conference" Brochures – We have brochures available which give the details regarding the Heart-Cry for Revival Conference" that will take place on April 9-12, 2002 at the Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, North Carolina. This conference is especially designed for church leaders, including lay leaders, who desire to seek the Lord for revival in their own lives, in America, and throughout the world. We realize that many church leaders outside of America and Canada will not be able to attend because of travel expenses. Therefore, we ask that readers outside of America and Canada request brochures only if they are able to arrange and fund their own travel expenses.
