Redeeming Time For Prayer

The men who have done most for God in their generation have been early on their knees. Behind this early rising and early praying is the ardent desire which presses us into this pursuit after God. A desire for God which cannot break the chains of sleep is a weak thing and will do but little good for God. We need a generation of saints who seek God early and late. Our laziness after God is our crying sin. We do not seek God with ardor and diligence. No man gets God who does not follow hard after Him.

"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth" (Hosea 6:3).

"They waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain" (Job 29:23).
